My Vision

I've been a nonprofit fundraiser for nearly 30 years, 

and I've found success across all aspects of charitable philanthropy, from annual fund campaigns to

planned giving programs and major gifts. As a consultant, my goal is to partner with executive directors and development teams during times of transition and instability.

  

Fractional fundraising provides smaller nonprofits access to a seasoned professional, without the hiring process or ramp-up period. I can come in and immediately get to work, typically at a lower cost than a full-time staff member.

When development directors transition out of your organization, your fundraising program shouldn't have to stop. While you search for your next fundraising leader, I jump in, roll up my sleeves, and immediately get to work, providing stability, leadership, and continuity while you conduct your search. You can take time to secure the ideal candidate, while I keep campaigns running, lead the team, or create a long-term fundraising plan, depending on what you and your organization needs.

Fractional Fundraising

Short term fractional fundraising is project-based, to oversee and manage seasonal campaigns, or create a donor communication plan. I can also work alongside your development team to take your fundraising to the next level. This could include conducting a program audit, providing additional support and coaching to implement development strategy, or embedding with your team to oversee a special campaign.

A new donor made a six-figure gift to create an endowment. I spoke with the donor to thank him for his generosity, and invited him to watch a rehearsal or attend a performance. He declined, saying that he only cared about honoring his late wife's passion for the art.

Thinking creatively, I delivered a fruit pie to the man's assisted living facility. I hoped that while the donor requested no engagement, a warm pie baked by an artist with the organization couldn't be refused.


The donor was so moved when he received the pie that he called to share his gratitude for this special treat. He continued to give to his endowment until it reached $1 million.

Beginning with a large-scale acquisition direct mail campaign, the organization realized exponential growth in the number of donors and the amount of contributions.


We expanded the direct mail program each year, sending appeals segmented by gift level, most recent gift date, and affiliation with the organization.


In six years, the annual campaign grew by approximately 400% while maintaining strong renewal rates with a robust donor communication plan.

The donor continued to send major gifts regularly, making sure to thank me for my personalized outreach that kept him engaged and informed.
